Update This was surprising to me how much a small change to Exposure and recovery as well as some sharpening,can make such a dramatic difference

To me it's very calming, and that's surprising taking into account obvious photo-manipulation: vivid colours and contrast.
In most cases that's what would drive me away from photograph (high contrast makes usually this obtrusive effect).

Instead, it rather reminds me childhood memories, which in fact are vivid, colorful and warm, like this warm, bright autumn afternoon. Soft shades of the coniferous look inviting and hold that nimb of mystery: From the left side to the right, you can see how the photograph turns from warm hard reality into fairyland. The two meet in the perspective.

Overall effect summons memories so old they appear as emotions, states of conciousness rather than exact events.
