This is a bright, beautiful and vibrant piece that shows off the sudden waking of fall very well. The reds and greens are very prominent, the ducks help level out the surrealism and give sound to the scene. The soft green really helps the picture meld in with the water and helps provide even more depth.

Excellent composition with the river's (it's a river, right?) path, leading the viewer from left to right and back again. Something I noticed right away was the birch tree on the left. The bright white that shone out over all of the other colours was surprising and enjoyable.

My suggestion is very simple: crop it. The sky overpowers the rest of the picture, so much so it made me squint. I have a wonderful little program called SnagIt and selected different crop methods for the picture for suggestion ideas. Ultimately, I would suggest removing part of the base of the picture (above where the grasses?) are on the bottom right until about half the distance between the base of the picture and the island. At the top, I would crop down to just above the tall evergreen.

Give it a try, you may find it adds quite a bit of depth.
